Fighting for your Rights

“When one pilot has a problem, we all have a problem.”  No more poignant statement has ever been made by our union.  Yet, in the lead up to the new UPA, almost 700 United Pilots on Long Term Disability were purposefully left behind.

The American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) clearly defines the rights of the disabled.  Yet, the Air Line Pilots Association, when brought to their attention, refused to negotiate for improved benefits for all its members.  Rather, they chose to create a “carve out” for only pilots suffering from “Long-Haul Covid.”

We are a group of disabled pilots who are fighting for their rights under the ADA. While the photo above shows a plane taxing out, we refuse to be left behind. When we stand together, all things are possible.  Please join us in our fight.

OUR STORY

While we suffer different maladies, the bond that unites us is our love of flying.  No one ever wants to imagine the day that they can no long exercise the privileges of their FAA Medical Certificate.  Yet, for some, it happens.  The fact that our union and our employer abandoned us during contract negotiations is unconscionable.  While we applaud those who did receive disability preference through the COVID Long Haul Side-Letter, we believe every pilot who pays for disability insurance should get the same benefit.  No special "Carve-Outs" can exist for certain ailments. Thus, we are organizing to fight for what is right.  Please Join Us!
